Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr. Rajitha Senaratne had decided to seek assistance from Police Headquarters to apprehend fake doctors island-wide.

Information on 30,000 fake doctors has been uncovered thus far, the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine said.

There are 15,000 doctors serving in the private sector, according to Ministry reports.

Therefore, the Ministry points out that doctors serving in the private sector should get registered at Private Health Services Regulatory Council in order to identify fake doctors.

The Minister requests all doctors in the private sector to extend their fullest support and co-operation to make this process a success.
