Chinese woman arrested with illegal cigarettes worth Rs. 1 million

A stock of illegal cigarettes worth Rs. 1 million, smuggled into the country, had been seized in Kollupitiya today (07).

A Chinese woman (44) who allegedly smuggled the stock was arrested earlier today with 8800 cartons of illegal cigarettes upon a tip-off received by Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB ).

Further investigations into the incident are being conducted by the PNB.
