Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL) owner Arjun Aloysius and CEO Kasun Palisena have been further remanded until June 21 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.

When the Central Bank treasury bond scam case was taken up for hearing today (7), the Attorney General’s Department informed the court that W.M. Mendis & Company, a subsidiary of PTL Group, had paid former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran’s credit card expenses amounting to Rs 3.2 million.

The AG’s Department also informed the court that a State Minister had received cheques worth Rs 3 million on three occasions from W.M. Mendis & Company Limited.

The cheques were encashed by security officers, the court was told.

Ada Derana Reporter said the B report submitted to the court had contained the name of State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe.
