Woman arrested with illicit liquor at Moragahahena

A woman has been arrested in Pitawila, Moragahahena for the possession of illicit liquor.

Accordingly, 52l 500ml of illicit liquor contained in 70 bottles have been taken into custody, according to the police.

The arrested woman, aged 30 years, is reportedly a resident near Gonapala Junction in Kumbuka North area.

The suspect is to be produced before the Horana Magistrate’s Court today (20).

Meanwhile, another person has been arrested in Grandpass area, for the possession of 40 g and 440 mg of heroin.

The police have seized Rs 210,100 in possession of the suspect that had been acquired from heroin trade.

The suspect will be produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court today, the police said.
