Sajith’s request to international organisations

October 2, 2018   01:56 pm

Minister of Housing and Construction Sajith Premadasa requests international organisations not to accentuate the poverty of people through media shows but to render their assistance to build houses and distribute relief to the innocent masses.

Minister Premadasa stated this yesterday (01) joining an event held for the World Habitat Day 2018, at Kotawehera area in Kurunegala. The model village ‘Jagath Niwahangama’, which was built under the ‘Uda Gammana’ project, was handed over to the public at the event.

It is a human right to own one’s own property and the United Nations that often speaks of human rights should heed more to provide solutions for the housing issues of people, he further stated.

Minister Premadasa stated that if the claims of the ‘chief economist’ in the country MP Bandula Gunawardana that the Sri Lankan Rupee has depreciated and the country has fallen apart are true, it raises a question as to how the government has already distributed housing subsidies to 308,000 families in the country.

Bandula Gunawardana who claimed that one individual can survive for a month with only Rs 2,500 is now giving economic analysis to the country, Minister Premadasa charged.

He further stated that the opponents are conspiring to get rid of any means of income for the general public.
