NBRO issues landslide warning for Nuwara Eliya

The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued landslide warnings for the Nuwara Eliya district due to the prevailing showery condition.

Reportedly, the warning was issued for the Walapane Divisional Secretariat and the nearby areas in the Nuwara Eliya district, with effect from 10.30 pm last night (21) for the next 24 hours.

The NBRO states that special attention should be paid on the risks of landslides, rockslides, sinkholes and soil erosion, as the rainfall has exceeded 75mm during the last 24 hours in the Nuwara Eliya district.
