Two dead, 3 injured after tree falls on three-wheeler

Two persons were killed while another 3 were injured after a tree fell on a three-wheeler at Udupessellawa, Ada Derana reporter said.

Five persons were traveling in the three-wheeler from Ragala to Kotamba when a large tree had fallen on the vehicle at around 8.35 p.m. last night near Garudagala, Galkotuwa.

The passengers and the driver were rushed to the Udupessellawa Hospital, however two of them were pronounced dead on admission.

The deceased have been identified as Nishantha Jayakody, 40, and Sussil Kumara Jayakody, 20, both residents of Kahathadiarawa.

Udupussellawa Police is conducting further investigations.
