Over 3,700 arrested during special police operation

Over 3,700 individuals have been arrested for various offences during a special island-wide police operation, the Police Spokesman said.

He said that a total of 3,711 persons were arrested including suspects with pending warrants for their arrest.

Meanwhile approximately 5,818 cases have been filed for traffic offences during the operation, which was carried out on the instruction of the IGP.
