Sri Lanka’s largest heroin haul busted in Kollupitiya

The Special Task Force (STF) and the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) have seized the largest stock of heroin ever seized in Sri Lanka yesterday (23).

The police have seized 294 kg 490 g heroin in yesterday’s raid.

Accordingly, two suspects and two vans were also taken into custody along with the heroin stock, the Police Media Spokesperson said.

They were apprehended in a raid jointly led by the STF and the PNB last evening (23) at the car park of a supermarket in Kollupitiya.

The heroin haul is estimated to be worth Rs 2945 million, the police said.

The suspects, aged 32 and 43 years, were identified as residents of Keselwatte area in Panadura.
