Sri Lanka’s ‘Ministry of Crab’ restaurant was ranked 35th in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019 at the awards ceremony held in Macau a short while ago.

The ‘Ministry of Crab’, a fine dining seafood restaurant specializing in crab dishes, is a collaboration between the former Cricketers Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena and the renowned Chef Dharshan Munidasa. Located in the Old Dutch Hospital, Colombo, the ‘Ministry of Crab’ has its branches in Shanghai (China), Manila (Philippines) and Mumbai (India).

This is the second time the restaurant has been appreciated among this renowned list. The ‘Ministry of Crab’ ranked 29th in the list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants in the year 2017.

The ‘Ministry of Crab’, along with Chef Munidasa’s other restaurant ‘Nihonbashi’, are the only two Sri Lankan restaurants that have been ranked in this list.
