Schools in North Western Province reopened

The academic activities of all schools in the North Western Province have recommenced today (15), says Governor Peshala Jayaratne.

He added that the government institutes in the province will also reopen today.

Police curfew was imposed on the entire North Western Province with immediate effect owing to a tense situation that took place on Sunday.

However, the curfew was lifted for two hours (4.00p.m.-6.00 p.m.), however, it was re-enforced for another 12-hour period. Accordingly, the curfew was lifted at 6.00 a.m. this morning (15).

Governor Peshala Jayaratne calls on the public in the North Western Province to continue their daily activities as usual.
