Peradeniya University to reopen next week

May 19, 2019   09:50 am

The administration of the University of Peradeniya has decided to recommence the academic activities next week.

Vice Chancellor Upul Dissanayake said the university will be reopened on the 21st of May.

All universities across the island were temporarily closed owing to the security concerns that emerged in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.

The University Grants Commission recently announced that the Vice Chancellors are authorized to decide on the dates and modes of commencing academic activities reopening their respective universities at any date from the 13th of May if the universities’ security status is at satisfactory levels.
