Police fire tear gas and water cannons at protesting uni students

The Galle Road from Kollupitiya to Galle Face has been temporarily closed due to a protest march, stated Ada Derana reporter.

The protest march has been organized by university students.

The Police have fired tear gas and water cannons at the protesting students to disperse the crowds at the Kollupitiya Junction.

The protest march caused heavy traffic congestion on the High Level road, near Wijerama Junction.
