Panadura North OIC interdicted over missing T-56 rifles

The officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Panadura North Police Station has been interdicted on the National Police Commission’s covering approval after two T-56 assault rifles went missing from his police station. 

An investigation was launched after two firearms went missing at the Panadura North Police Station on July 06.

Investigations were carried out under the supervision of the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Western Province. 

Based on the information uncovered so far, a decision had been taken to interdict Panadura North OIC Police Inspector Prabath Paranavithana on the NPC’s covering approval.
