Police use tear gas & water cannons on protesting students

The Lotus Road in Colombo has been temporarily closed off for traffic from the Galle Face entrance road due to a protest.

The protest has been organized by the students following the Higher National Diploma (HND) course at the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education.

The police had resorted to using tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesting students, stated Ada Derana reporter.
