Kerala Cannabis worth Rs 25 mn seized

A joint mission of the Sri Lanka Navy and the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) had intercepted a haul of Kerala Cannabis, in Kankesanthurai.
Three suspects have also been arrested along with the stock of Cannabis.
Reportedly, over 80 kg worth nearly Rs 25 million have been seized in this manner.
Accordingly, some suspicious parcels had been observed during a raid carried out by Northern Naval Command at Keeramale beach area in Jaffna.
By further search 3 suspects were also apprehended with these parcels contained 83.9kg of cannabis.
The recovered haul of Kerala ganja along with the 3 suspects were handed over to Narcotics Bureau of Jaffna Police for onward action, navy said.
