Heavy traffic at Technical Junction due to protest

August 28, 2019   02:56 pm

Severe traffic congestion has been reported around Technical Junction in Maradana due to a protest march by university students.

The protest, organized by the Inter University Students’ Federation (IUSF), has resulted in severe traffic congestion at Technical Junction and surrounding areas.

The protesters are expected to march from Technical Junction through Lotus Road in Colombo.

The protest is being staged against attempts to pass the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council (QAAC) Act in parliament, which they claim would nullify the role of the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC).
