SLFP, SLPP begin 8th round of talks

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna have commenced their 8th round of discussions a short while ago.

The two parties have been in talks for a possible alliance between the two parties since March. Their discussions came to a temporary halt from June and resumed on the 27th of August.

General Secretary of SLFP Dayasiri Jayasekara, UPFA General Secretary Mahinda Amaraweera, MP Lasantha Alagiyawanna will join the discussions on behalf of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party while SLPP National Organiser Basil Rajapaksa, SLPP Chairman Prof. G.L. Peiris and MP Dullas Alahapperuma will take part as representatives from the other party.
