Tolls for newly opened parts of Southern Expressway announced

A gazette notification has been published announcing the new toll fees of the recently declared open parts of the Southern Expressway.

 

The subject Minister Kabir Hashim issued the Extraordinary Gazette notification yesterday (08).

 

The third phase of the Outer Circular Road, which links the Southern Expressway and the Katunayake Expressway with a 9.6km stretch of road spanning from Kadawatha to Kerawalapitiya and the section from Barawakumbura to Mattala via Andarawewa which is a 21.8km stretch and a 16.6km stretch from Andarawewa to Hambantota were opened to vehicular traffic starting from midnight yesterday (08).

 

Accordingly, Rs. 100 will be charged from Barawakumbuka to Sooriyaweva. The fare from Mattala to Sooriyaweva is also Rs. 100.

 

Rs. 200 will be charged for vehicular traffic between Hambantota and Barawakumbura.

 

Meanwhile, the toll fee for the Outer Circular Road from Kadawatha to Kerawalapitiya is to be charged under three categories.

 

Under the Category 01, Rs. 150 will be charged for the distance between Ja-Ela and Katunayake, while Rs. 250 is to be charged from Kerawalapitiya to Katunayake.

 

The charge levied for light vehicles on the stretch of road from Kadawatha to Katunayake is Rs. 350.

 

Meanwhile, buses and lorries will be charged Rs. 1,150 from Godagama to Kerawalapitiya and light vehicles will be charged Rs. 750. Other heavy vehicles are to be charges Rs. 1,950.
