Three Indians nabbed with gold at BIA

Three Indian nationals have been apprehended at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake for attempting to smuggle 1,540 grams of gold out of the country.

The suspects were arrested by officers of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at the airport’s departure terminal.

The arrested Indian nationals who are aged 29, 32 and 34 have been handed over to Airport Customs.
