Akila makes request to name Ranil as Opposition Leader

General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP) Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has requested Speaker of Parliament Karu Jayasuriya to appoint former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Opposition Leader.

It is reported that he made a written request to the Speaker in this regard.
