Prices of cement go down

December 14, 2019   05:14 pm

The government has decided to reduce the prices of locally manufactured cement.

It is reported that the prices of cement manufactured in Sri Lanka and cement imported in bulk will be brought down starting from the next week.

Accordingly, the price of a cement bag weighing 50kg has been slashed by Rs.100, State Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Welfare Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said.

The decision on cement price reduction has been taken owing to the recent cuts made to Value Added Tax (VAT) and other taxes.
