Will not use state institutes for political advantage - Namal

United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Namal Rajapaksa says that they are not willing to use state institutions to gain political advantages.

“We don’t need to create courts or police units, and arrest and intimidate politicians or officials through false accusations, like the UNP government did.”

The parliamentarian mentioned this addressing a public meeting held in Weeraketiya, yesterday (17).

He says that his party did not come into power seeking political revenge but to work.

“Law will be implemented through necessary institutes. The Judiciary will do justice. Police can implement the law; there is no issue in it.

However, we will not intervene or create false evidence to obtain political revenge.”

He further said, “I heard that some UNP MPs say that ‘Rajapaksa government has come to get political revenge’. But within a week of the UNP government coming into power, they recorded statements from the dog at our house. Yet we haven’t done that.”
