CCD directed to record statements from judges involved in Ranjan’s phone calls

The Attorney General (AG) has directed the Director of Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) to record statements from the judges who were involved in the controversial telephone conversations with UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayake, without delay, says the AG’s Coordinating Officer.

Earlier this month, a series of audio recordings of phone conversations between MP Ranjan Ramanayake and several high-profile officials in the country including former Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Shani Abeysekara and justices.

Recordings contained phone conversations between the parliamentarians and Justices Gihan Pilapitiya, Padmini Ranawaka, and Magistrate Dhammika Hemapana.
