UPDATE (6.47 pm): Judicial Services Commission has sent its recommendations to the President on High Court Judge Gihan Pilapitiya as well.

This too has been over the involvement in phone conversations with MP Ranjan Ramanayake.

As the Commission has no power to interdict a High Court judge, it has sent its recommendations to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in this manner.

Baddegama Magistrate Dhammika Hemapala has been interdicted by the Judicial Services Commission.

Reportedly, the action has been taken over the magistrate‘s involvement in telephone conversations with MP Ranjan Ramanayake.
