34,000 sub-standard face masks imported from India, China seized

A stock of 34,000 sub-standard face masks imported from India and China has been seized at Pettah.

The seizure was made by the officers of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA).

It is reported that the imported stock of face masks was to be put up for sale at shops in Pettah.

The CAA stated that the persons involved in this were not in possession of an import license.
