Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Colombo, Kaluthara, Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 pm.

 

Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere.

 

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces during the morning.

 

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

 

SEA AREAS

 

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few palaces in the sea areas extending from Colombo to Matara via Galle in the evening or night.

 

Mainly fair weather will prevail over the other sea areas around the island.

 

Winds will be North-easterly and speed will be (20-30) kmph in the sea areas around the island. Wind speed can increase up to 45 kmph at times in the sea areas extending from Galle to Potuvil via Hambanthota and the sea areas extending from Mannar to Chilaw via Puttalam.

 

The sea areas extending from Galle to Potuvil via Hambanthota and the sea areas extending from Mannar to Chilaw via Puttalam can be fairly rough at times.
