Mahinda-Maithripala to meet on Tuesday

A special meeting between the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) on the proposed new alliance is scheduled to be held on Tuesday (February 18).

Reportedly, the meeting will be held between the party leaders –Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and former President Maithripala Sirisena.

An agreement on forming an alliance to contest the upcoming general election will be discussed at the meeting, stated Senior Vice President of SLFP Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa.
