Nearly 40,000 fake doctors island-wide - GMOA

Nearly 40,000 fake doctors are treating patients island-wide, claims the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA).

According to Secretary of GMOA Dr. Haritha Aluthge, nearly 10,000 of them have been recognized so far.

The government has been made a request to strengthen the existing legal frameworks and for new legislation to eliminate fake doctors, he further said.
