Youth arrested for illegal possession of firearm

An individual has been arrested near the H. R. Jothipala Mawatha in Watareka for the illegal possession of a firearm.
A team of officers of the Organized Crime Prevention Division (OCPD) has made the arrest at around 9.30 pm last night (25).
The suspect had been arrested with a locally manufactured firearm while traveling on a three-wheeler.
The arrested suspect is a 29-year-old male residing in Galabedahena, Watareka-Meegoda.
The arrestee will be produced at the Homagama Magistrate’s Court today (26).
Further investigations are carried out by the OCPD.
