Mainly fair weather will prevail over the most part of the island, says the Department of Meteorology.

However, Showers may occur at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa province and in Kalutara, Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 p.m.

Wind speed can increase up to 40 kmph at times North-western province and in Hambantota, Monaragala, Mannar and Vavuniya districts.


Sea areas:

Mainly fair weather will prevail over the sea areas around the island.

Winds will be North-easterly and speed will be (25-35) kmph in the sea areas around the island.

Wind speed can increase up to (50-55) kmph at times in the sea areas extending from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and the sea areas extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

The sea area extending from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and the sea area extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota can be fairly rough at times.
