CID arrests man for spreading fake news on COVID-19

A person has been arrested at Uhumeeya in Kurunegala for spreading false information about the COVID-19 virus through social media.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested the suspect around 8.45 pm today (28).

The suspect has been revealed to be a 38-year-old residing in Kalubowila area, stated the Police.

He is to be produced at the Hultsdorf Court No. 1 tomorrow (29).

Further investigation into the matter is carried out by the CID.
