Kalubowila Hospital ward closed off after patient tests positive for coronavirus

A ward at the Colombo South Teaching Hospital, commonly known as the Kalubowila Hospital, has been closed off completely after a patient tested positive for COVID-19.

The patient in question is reportedly a 60-year-old from Moratuwa area.

Accordingly, the other patients who were being treated at the relevant ward and its staff have been directed to a 14-day quarantine process.

The patients will be transferred to the Homagama Base Hospital while the ward’s staff is to be quarantined at the Teacher Training College in Maharagama.
