206 quarantined persons leave Vanni quarantine center

A batch of quarantined persons at the Vanni quarantine center operated by the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) returned to their homes today (31).

Accordingly, 206 passengers from overseas who arrived at the quarantine center on March 17 left the center earlier today.

Among the quarantined persons were a British passport holder and a Philippine lady, stated the Sri Lanka Air force.

The passengers who leave today will have to undergo two more weeks of self-quarantine at their homes.

During their stay in Vanni, the passengers were provided with all meals, essential items including 4G internet. The passengers were monitored on a 24-hour basis by SLAF medical personnel in order to maintain and ensure that they are free from COVID-19 infection.

Vanni quarantine center, established under instructions of Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias,  is the first Quarantine Centre operated by the Sri Lanka Air Force. The entire operation of this Quarantine Centre was managed by the Regiment Training School, Vanni under the supervision of the Commanding Officer, Air Commodore DCI Weerasooriya.
