Three more COVID-19 patients found, cases tally climbs to 162

Three more patients have tested positive for COVID-19 in Sri Lanka bringing the total number of cases to 162, the Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe said.

Speaking at the media briefing of National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19, Dr. Jasinghe said that three of the 11 patients who tested positive for the virus over the course of yesterday and today were from Jaffna quarantine centre.

Another two patients, who had returned from South Korea and the United States were also found from a quarantine centre.

One of these 11 patients was found from a quarantine centre in Puttalam.

These positive cases also include a pregnant woman from Ambepitiya, Beruwala.

In the meantime, a total of 25 coronavirus patients in the country have been discharged from hospital after recovering completely while 5 patients died of the virus.
