Inter-provincial bus services to recommence operations from Tuesday

Inter-provincial commuting will be allowed on the island from Colombo and Gampaha districts from May 26, Tuesday.
Thereby, inter-provincial bus services will also recommence operations from the said date, stated Minister of Transport Mahinda Amaraweera.
Speaking to Ada Derana, the Minister that all bus services will be allowed to be operated as per the directives and guidelines set by health sectors.
Accordingly, all have been prepared to operate Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses to recommence operations as well, said Amaraweera.
However, passengers will be allowed to travel in the buses only according to the availability of seats, he said.
Sri Lanka Police and the National Transport Commission will overlook these regulations, he added.
However, inter-provincial bus service will not be applicable for the Colombo and Gampaha districts, the Minister further said.
