49 returnees from Kuwait among yesterday’s Covid-19 cases

A total of 52 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus were identified within yesterday (24), raising the tally of confirmed cases reported in the country to 1,141.

According the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 49 of them are individuals who had recently returned from Kuwait and were in quarantine centers.

This includes 42 from the Minneriya quarantine center and 07 from the Trincomalee quarantine center.

Of the 52 new positive cases reported yesterday, 02 are navy personnel in quarantine while the other is a returnee from Indonesia who is under quarantine at Pelwehera.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 reported thus far in Sri Lanka to 1,141.

Accordingly 458 patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 are currently being treated at hospitals while 674 have been cured and discharged.
