Food outlets can only be opened under the guidelines of the health authorities, even when the curfew is lifted, stated the Association of Public Health Inspectors.

Hotels and restaurants have not been permitted to open as of yet, said the Secretary of the association Mahendra Balasuriya.

Meanwhile, steps have been taken to randomly subject individuals and three-wheeler drivers who deliver cooked food within the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) area to PCR testing.

Epidemiologist Dr. Dinuka Guruge of the CMC stated that these tests will be carried out by selecting small samples.
