Universities to reopen on June 15 for medical students

Universities will reopen on the 15th of June for the examinations of students of Medial Faculties, says the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

These students will be directed to 14-day quarantine period prior to the conduct of their examinations.

Following the completion of exams of medical students, the other faculties will also be reopened gradually.

A media briefing on resuming functions at universities, chaired by Minister of Information & Communications Technology, Higher Education, Technology and Innovations, Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, is currently taking place at the Department of Government Information.

Since mid-March, all universities remained closed as a precautionary measure against the COVID-19 outbreak.
