COVID-19 recoveries reach 781 as 27 more regain health

Twenty-seven more COVID-19-positive patients who had been undergoing treatment have been discharged from hospitals today (30) as they have recovered completely.

This brings Sri Lanka’s recoveries count to 781, says the Ministry of Health.

The new recoveries are reported from Colombo East Base Hospital (11), Navy Hospital (01), Minuwangoda Base Hospital (02) and Homagama Base Hospital (13).

The coronavirus-positive cases confirmed in the country hiked to 1,558 on Friday (29) with 28 fresh cases. The number of active coronavirus cases under medical care meanwhile stands at 767.

The Epidemiology Unit says that 475 of the patients reported in Sri Lanka are imported cases. A total of 734 navy personnel have also tested positive for the virus, however, 381 of them have returned to health.

Sri Lanka reported its 10th COVID-19 death on May 25 as a 51-year-old woman who had arrived in the country from Kuwait succumbed to the disease.
