Mechanism needed to set up laboratory services at airports

May 31, 2020   11:59 am

A mechanism to test those who enter the country through the airport for COVID-19 infection should be introduced expeditiously, states the Sri Lanka Association of Government Medical Laboratory Technologists.

Chairman of the Association Ravi Kumudesh states, his Association is prepared to assist the government if such a mechanism will be devised.

He points out that it is necessary to have laboratory services available at airports if the country is to be re-opened.

The Chairman further said that a written request has also been made to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa with this regard.
