A decision has been taken to increase bus and train facilities available for the general public from tomorrow (01).

Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Kingsley Ranawaka stated that the Board has decided to deploy more buses to facilitate public transport.

Compared last week, more focus will be on inter-provincial bus services this week, said Ranawaka.

Meanwhile, the Department of Railways, too, has decided to increase the number of trains operated from tomorrow.

Accordingly, 33 trains will be operated tomorrow, said General Manager of Railways V. S. Polwattage.

However, the train services are available only for employees who are reporting to work, he added.
