Covid-19 cases in Sri Lanka climbs to 1,635

One more person has tested positive for Coronavirus increasing the total number of confirmed cases reported in the country to 1,635.

According to the Ministry of Health the latest patient to test positive for the virus is from the Sri Lanka Navy.

Accordingly two new cases have been reported so far within today. This includes a navy sailor currently under quarantine in Mullaitivu and a returnee from Indonesia who is at the Pelwehera quarantine centre.

This brings the tally of COVID-19 cases reported in Sri Lanka to 1,635 while 813 of them are currently under medical treatment at selected hospitals.

Meanwhile the number of recoveries in the country has risen to 811.

The death toll due to the virus in the island is 11.
