Six new cases of Covid-19 brings total to 1,639

Four more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 increasing the tally of confirmed cases reported in the country to 1,639.

Six new cases have been reported so far within today (June 01). 

This includes two navy personnel from Mullaitivu and Kalpitiya quarantine centres and two from the Rajagiriya Ayurveda quarantine centre who are close associates of a soldier who had previously tested positive.

The other two are a returnee from Indonesia who is at the Pelwehera quarantine centre and a returnee from Belarus who is at the Diyagama quarantine centre.

Accordingly the total number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus reported in Sri Lanka has increased to 1,639 with 817 of them still under medical care.

811 patients have been discharged from hospital after recovering. 

The death toll increased to 11 this morning.
