291 Sri Lankans repatriated from Singapore

Another group of Sri Lankan nationals stranded in Singapore due to the COVID-19 global pandemic returned to the island onboard a special repatriation flight on Tuesday (02).

A total of 291 Sri Lankans arrived onboard SriLankan Airlines flight UL 303 which had reached the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake, at around 4.15 p.m. today, Ada Derana reporter said.

The passengers will be subjected to medical tests and disinfection protocols before being sent to mandatory quarantine.

Ada Derana reporter said the passengers, aircraft crew and pilots will all undergo PCR tests at the airport premises and that necessary arraignments have been made for this by airport and health authorities. 

Until the results of the PCR tests are received, the passengers who arrived from Singapore will be kept in four hotel in close proximity to the airport, he said.
