Three new COVID-19 patients add up 1,800 total cases

Three new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Sri Lanka bringing the total number of cases reported in the country to 1,800.

One of them is a navy person who is under quarantine and the other two are returnees from Bangladesh at the Rantambe quarantine centre, the Department of Government Information said.

Earlier today (05), a total of 19 coronavirus patients, who had recovered from the disease completely, were discharged from the IDH, Homagama Base Hospital and Minuwangoda Base Hospital. With this, the country’s recoveries tally escalated to 858.

Accordingly, 931 patients infected with Covid-19 are currently under medical care at hospitals, says the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry.

In the meantime, 11 patients have died due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
