Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 recoveries sweep past 1,000 mark

Sixty-seven more COVID-19-positive patients have been discharged from hospitals today (09) upon making complete recoveries.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka’s recoveries count has moved up to 1,057, the Ministry of Health said.

The new recoveries are reported from Infectious Disease Hospital (03), Welikanda Base Hospital (06), Colombo East Base Hospital (06), Iranawila Hospital (05), Welisara Navy Hospital (35) and Homagama Base Hospital (12).

The coronavirus-positive cases confirmed in the country hiked to 1,857 on Monday (08) as 22 more persons tested positive for the virus.

The number of active coronavirus cases under medical care meanwhile stands at 789.

Eleven patients have died due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
