Large sum of cash being brought to Colombo National Hospital robbed at gunpoint

A large amount of money cash being transported to the Colombo General Hospital has been robbed at gunpoint, stated the Police.

An amount of nearly Rs 35 million has been robbed in this manner.

Reportedly, the money was being transported to pay the overtime salaries of the hospital employees.

The perpetrator had fled the scene after robbing the money.

However, the Maradana Police have managed to arrest the suspect at the Punchi Borella area.

Three police teams have been assigned to investigate the incident.
