Imported cases make up all of yesterday’s COVID-19 patient count

A total of 23 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed on Thursday (18), says the Department of Government Information.

According to reports, all these patients are reportedly imported case – 19 returnees from Dubai, 02 from Qatar at the Ampara quarantine centre, 01 from London at the Rajagiriya quarantine centre and another one from Russia at the Pitipana quarantine centre.

Following the confirmation of these fresh cases, Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases tally escalated to 1,947.

Meanwhile, the number of patients who recovered from the disease moved up to 1,421.

At present, 515 active cases are receiving medical care at selected hospitals across the country.

Sri Lanka has confirmed 11 deaths due to the COVID-19.
