New lab set up at BIA for PCR testing

A brand new medical laboratory has been set up at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) to carry out PCR tests on arriving air passengers.

The laboratory was opened and was vested with the Ministry of Health today (09).

Reportedly, the new laboratory has the capacity to carry out PCR tests of 500 passengers per day.

Medical laboratory equipment donated to various hospitals in the country have been set up at the new laboratory.
